Spiritual tourism activities that are open to the public may lead to ambiguity in their spiritual interpretation, especially when sacred practices are framed within a commercial context. This study aims to analyze the changes and development of spiritual tourism activities as part of the healing trend in the tourism industry, with a focus on Liyer Spirit House, Bali. A qualitative approach was used in this research, with a phenomenological method based on Pierre Bourdieu’s social practice theory. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, using purposive sampling in selecting informants. The results of this study indicate the dynamics of spiritual tourism activities and the characteristics of spiritual tourists at Liyer Spirit House. The study identifies an ethical dilemma faced by the management, which is maintaining the sacredness of rituals while meeting the demands of tourists, impacting the boundaries of ritual adaptation within the context of commercialization. As a contribution, this study recommends further research to analyze the long-term impacts of ritual commodification on the sustainability of Balinese culture and religious beliefs. Additionally, it suggests comparing Liyer Spirit House with other spiritual tourism destinations to enrich the understanding of spiritual tourism dynamics in Bali.
