About
JURNAL DESTINASI PARIWISATA is published by the Undergraduate Tourism Study Program, Faculty of Tourism, Udayana University. It was first issued with p-ISSN No. 2338-8811 on September 3, 2013, which applied from Volume 1 to Volume 5. Thanks to the hard work and high dedication of the editorial management, in 2017 JURNAL DESTINASI PARIWISATA adjusted its management system by applying for an electronic journal operational license on January 5, 2017, and subsequently began publishing online with e-ISSN No. 2548-8937. In 2019, JDEPAR successfully obtained a rank-five accreditation (SINTA-5) with decree number 28/E/KPT/2019 (valid until Vol. 12, No. 1, 2022).
JURNAL DESTINASI PARIWISATA is published as one of the academic community’s contributions to the tourism sector, which is increasingly promising economically but, on the other hand, also gives rise to various problems such as cultural and socio-economic degradation, conflicts, criminality, ecological damage, and many other issues. This journal presents the results of research, surveys, theoretical studies, methodological studies, seminar reviews, and popular scientific articles in the field of tourism. Its focus includes aspects of planning, arrangement, management, and the impacts arising therefrom, examined through classical, modern, and postmodern theories. The scope of studies includes, among others, tourism geography, ecotourism, alternative tourism, adventure tourism, rural tourism, urban tourism, spiritual tourism, etc., employing various methodological approaches according to the topic and the authors’ expertise.
JURNAL DESTINASI PARIWISATA serves as a medium for sharing among authors, where junior authors with brilliant ideas, concepts, and research results can gain writing experience from senior authors and regard them as mentors to receive guidance and motivation, thereby becoming highly competent writers. JDEPAR proudly welcomes contributions from experts, university lecturers, practitioners, and students who are sensitive to and concerned about the existence and development of sustainable tourism. It is expected to function as a platform for wide dissemination, permanent records, and reputation building of the works produced before advancing to a broader arena, namely reputable international journals.
JDEPAR is published twice a year (June and December). In its early years, it published 10 manuscripts per volume (Vol. 1–Vol. 4). However, starting in 2017, the number of manuscripts published in a single issue was adjusted based on the large number of undergraduate theses and master’s theses to be published (in line with JDEPAR’s vision of accommodating works by junior or beginner authors). Therefore, beginning in 2017, JDEPAR publishes 20–30 manuscripts in a single issue to improve manuscript quality and move toward internationalization
