Apakah Emotional Intelligence dipengaruhi gender?: Analisis perbedaan kecerdasan emosi kaitannya dengan manajemen konflik suami-isteri dalam masa kritis perkawinan

Kecerdasan emosi/emotional intelligence menjadi menarik dibahas karena selalu bersangktan dengan aspek kehidupan seperti membina hubungan sampai dengan penyelesaian konflik. Studi gender konvensional menyebutkan terdapat perbedaan antara laki-laki dan perempuan terutama dalam emosi keduanya. Hal ini dikaitkan dengan perbedaan jenis kelamin secara fisiologis dan peran gender secara sosial. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan emotional intelligence laki-laki dan perempuan dalam konteks usia kritis perkawinan dimana konflik perkawinan seringkali terjadi. Sebanyak 91 pasangan suami istri (N=182) berpartisipasi dalam studi ini untuk mengetahui emotional intelligence yang dimiliki dan kaitan emotional intelligence terhadap manajemen konflik perkawinan. Temuan mengenai hasil korelasi dan komparasi serta pembahasan akan dibahas lebih lanjut dalam diskusi.
