Chronic Kidney Disease was a health problem characterized by irreversible kidney function decline and altered urine composition. Data on urinalysis profiles in CKD patients at Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital remained limited. This study aimed to determine the characteristics of chemical urinalysis and urine sediment in CKD patients at Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital. This descriptive analytic observational study used a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 76 CKD patients who met the inclusion criteria from January to March 2024. Medical record data were collected using total sampling technique and analyzed using SPSS version 29.0. The majority of patients were male (56.6%), aged 56–65 years (43.4%), and in advanced stages (IV and V). Chemical urinalysis showed normal specific gravity (98.7%) and a median pH of 5.5. Abnormal findings were dominated by positive leukocyte esterase (51.3%) and proteinuria (38.2%). Urine sediment showed a median of 2 erythrocytes/HPF, 9 leukocytes/HPF, and high bacteriuria (80.3%). Granular casts were found in 18.4% of patients, while pathological crystals were found in small proportions. Urinalysis characteristics in CKD patients were dominated by leukocyte esterase, proteinuria, and bacteriuria, which indicated the presence of inflammation or accompanying infection and advanced kidney damage.
