About the Journal

Jurnal Nawala Politika (JNP) is an open-access scientific journal that has undergone a rigorous peer-review process. This journal is dedicated to publishing in-depth, interdisciplinary academic research.

JNP is officially published by the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Udayana University.

The main focus of JNP is to publish original works that connect local perspectives and issues (especially from the context of Indonesia and Southeast Asia) with broader theoretical debates in the disciplines of Political Science, International Relations, and International Studies. This journal strongly encourages critical analysis of international issues and the development of Global South perspectives, offering alternative insights that challenge mainstream views.

JNP welcomes academics, policy professionals, civil-society researchers, and students worldwide. We particularly encourage inter-institutional and international collaborations that enhance comparative leverage or methodological rigor.

Starting in September 2026, JNP will continue to accept original research articles written in either Indonesian or English (US). However, authors are strongly encouraged to submit their manuscripts in English (US) to enhance their international visibility and readership. We have a strong commitment to methodological pluralism, welcoming a variety of rigorous methodological frameworks, including qualitative, quantitative, and normative or philosophical approaches, as long as the manuscript demonstrates high academic rigor and relevance.

As an open-access journal, all JNP content is freely accessible and downloadable by global readers under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC-BY 4.0), ensuring the unhindered dissemination of knowledge.
