PLAGIARISM POLICY AND HANDLING OF ACADEMIC RESEARCH MISCONDUCT

Plagiarism Policy

Acta Comitas: Jurnal Hukum Kenotariatan is committed to maintaining the originality and integrity of every manuscript processed and every article published. All manuscripts submitted to Acta Comitas: Jurnal Hukum Kenotariatan undergo similarity screening as part of the editorial assessment process. The screening is conducted using the similarity-checking software adopted by the journal.

  • Detection Tool: Every submitted manuscript must include proof of a text similarity check using Turnitin and will undergo another text similarity check before being sent to the Reviewer.
  • Similarity Tolerance Limit: The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%, excluding the References and properly formatted direct quotations.
  • Sanctions/Actions: If a manuscript is found to have a similarity index exceeding 20%, the author will be required to revise and paraphrase the manuscript. Manuscripts showing indications of serious plagiarism (deliberately copying another work without proper attribution) will be immediately Rejected, and the author may be subject to a sanction prohibiting them from resubmitting a manuscript.

The identification and handling of suspected plagiarism are conducted based on the evidence and substance of the similarities identified, with due regard to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) COPE Guidance on Suspected Plagiarism in a Submitted Manuscript .

 

Research Misconduct Policy

Acta Comitas: Jurnal Hukum Kenotariatan is committed to addressing allegations of research misconduct, academic integrity violations, and publication ethics violations, including fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, unauthorized authorship, duplicate publication, and citation manipulation, in an objective and documented manner.

This policy applies to alleged violations identified both in manuscripts undergoing the editorial process and in articles that have already been published. Each allegation of misconduct will be assessed based on the available evidence and information. Relevant parties will be given an opportunity to provide clarification, explanations, and supporting evidence before a decision is made.

Allegations of research and publication misconduct will be handled in accordance with the guidelines and procedures established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) COPE Guidance .
