Author(s) need to register with the journal prior to submitting or, if already registered, can simply log in and begin the five-step process. Generally, the manuscript should be submitted in the form of at least four files:

1. First Page File/Cover Letter (.DOC, .DOCX)

This file should contain:

  1. The specifications of the manuscript: type, title, running title, abstract's word count, manuscript's word count, total number of figure(s), and total number of table(s).
  2. Author details: names of all authors (with their highest academic degrees) and affiliations (name of the department, institution, city, and country).
  3. The name, address, e-mail, and telephone number of the corresponding author, who is responsible for communicating with the other authors about revisions and final approval of the proofs.
  4. All potential conflict of interests from any of the authors (if any).
  5. Previous presentation of the manuscript (if any).
  6. Registration number in case of a clinical trial and where it is registered (name of the registry, date registered, and its URL).

We have provided a template for the First Page file (see above) that can be filled in to make it easier for the authors.

2. Blinded Article file (.DOC, .DOCX)

The main text of the article (from Title, Abstract, Main Body, References, Figure Legends, and Tables) should all be in this file. The file must not contain any mention of the authors' names or initials or the institution at which the study was done or acknowledgments. Do not use any headers, footers, or watermarks. Do not incorporate figure(s) in the file. The pages should be numbered consecutively, beginning with the first page of the blinded article file.

3. Figure files (.PNG, .JPEG)

Each figure must be submitted as a separate file. Submit good quality color images of less than 2 MB in size. The size of the image can be reduced by decreasing the actual height and width of the images (keep up to 1600x1200 pixels or 5-6 inches). Legends for the figures/images should be included at the end of the article file. 

4. Filled-inreporting guidelines checklist (.DOC, .DOCX)

Authors are strongly recommended to submit the article-type-related reporting checklist. For example, clinical trial reports must include CONSORT statement checklist, observational studies must include STROBE checklist, case reports must include the CARE checklist, narrative review must include SANRA checklist etc.

The requirements of the manuscript:

  1. Manuscript has not been previously published or submitted to other publisher.
  2. Manuscript must be written in English or Bahasa and in Microsoft Word format.
  3. Manuscript should between 1.000 and 5.000 words including text and footnotes.
  4. The text should be typed with a line spacing of 1.15 pt. Times New Roman, uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. Size of the page is A4, margin: top 2.54cm, left 2.54cm, bottom 2.54cm, right 2.54 cm, portrait orientation.
  6. Authors clearly state if there is any conflict of interest or potential financial conflict or external funding sources.
  7. Management reference application Mendeley should be used when citing a reference and creating the bibliography in the article.
  8. Authors have to use International Systems of Units (SI) measurement and measurements should be abbreviated.
  9. Manuscript must contain the following matters: 

Title

- Must be no more than 16 words in English or Bahasa. In case there is a specific word not in English or Bahasa, it must be written in italic

- Font: Centre, Capital, Bold, Times New Roman, Size 14.

Abstract

Abstract consists of 100-300 words which should be written in one paragraph. The writing should be in Times New Roman, size 10, justify, italic with single space. The abstract should be concise, clear, descriptive, and comprehensive. It should provide a brief overview of, include reasons for the selection or the importance of research topics, legal problems (purposes) research methods, and a summary of the results and discussion /or conclusion. Keywords consists of 3-5 words or short phrases. (Justify, Italic, Times New Roman, size 10, single-spaced)

Articles

Article is written in A4 size paper with margin in all sides are 2.54 cm and the distance between the line is 1.15 pt. Font used in artikel is Times New Roman with font size 12. Format the complete manuscript according to the provided template example.

Ethical Clearance

Article reporting studies involving human and animal participants, human data or human tissue must include a statement on ethics approval and consent. The authors must also state the name of the ethics committee that approved the study and the approval number.

Bibliography

It should contain all relevant cited materials in the text which is sorted alphabetically based on the name of the writer. The literature used in the manuscript should prioritize the last 10 years of publication (> 80%). The use of academic journal articles is encouraged. All literature should be listed in Bibliography, as follows:

Text references are based on the Vancouver format with numbers in the order in which they appear, numbers written above (superscript) without parentheses after punctuation. Authors must use management reference applications such as Mendeley in writing citations and references.

The Authors submitting a manuscript do so on the understanding that if accepted for publication, the copyright of the article shall be assigned to Jurnal Anestesiologi dan Terapi Intensif (JATI) as the publisher of the journal. Copyright encompasses exclusive rights to reproduce and deliver the article in all forms and media, including reprints, photographs, microfilms, and any other similar reproductions, as well as translations.

Secara umum, manuskrip harus diajukan dalam bentuk setidaknya empat file berikut:

File ini harus mencantumkan:

  4. Pernyataan mengenai potensi konflik kepentingan dari masing-masing penulis (jika ada).
  5. Informasi tentang presentasi sebelumnya dari manuskrip ini (jika ada).
  6. Nomor registrasi apabila manuskrip berupa laporan uji klinis, serta informasi tentang tempat registrasi (nama registri, tanggal registrasi, dan URL-nya).

Kami telah menyediakan template untuk Halaman Pertama (lihat di atas) yang dapat diisi untuk mempermudah penulis.

2. Naskah Anonim (Blinded Article) (file .DOC, .DOCX)

File ini berisi teks utama artikel (dari Judul, Abstrak, Isi utama, Daftar Pustaka, Keterangan Gambar, hingga Tabel). File ini tidak boleh mencantumkan nama atau inisial penulis, institusi tempat penelitian dilakukan, ataupun ucapan terima kasih (acknowledgments). Jangan gunakan header, footer, atau watermark. Jangan memasukkan gambar langsung dalam file ini. Halaman harus diberi nomor secara berurutan mulai dari halaman pertama file naskah anonim ini.

3. File Gambar (Figures) (file .PNG, .JPEG)

Setiap gambar harus diajukan sebagai file terpisah. Ajukan gambar berwarna berkualitas tinggi dengan ukuran kurang dari 2 MB. Ukuran gambar dapat dikurangi dengan menurunkan tinggi dan lebar aktual (maksimum 1600x1200 piksel atau 5-6 inci). Keterangan gambar (figure legends) harus disertakan di akhir file artikel.

4. Daftar Checklist Panduan Pelaporan Terisi (Filled-in Reporting Guidelines Checklist) (file .DOC, .DOCX)

Penulis sangat dianjurkan untuk menyertakan daftar checklist panduan pelaporan sesuai jenis artikel. Misalnya, laporan uji klinis harus menyertakan checklist CONSORT, studi observasional menyertakan checklist STROBE, laporan kasus menyertakan checklist CARE, narrative review menyertakan SANRA dan sebagainya.

Persyaratan manuskrip:

  1. Manuskrip belum pernah dipublikasikan atau dikirimkan ke penerbit lain.
  2. Manuskrip harus ditulis dalam bahasa Inggris atau bahasa Indonesia dan dalam format Microsoft Word.
  3. Panjang manuskrip antara 1.000 hingga 5.000 kata, termasuk teks dan catatan kaki.
  4. Teks diketik dengan spasi 1,15 pt; menggunakan font Times New Roman ukuran 12 poin; menggunakan huruf miring, bukan garis bawah (kecuali untuk alamat URL); serta semua ilustrasi, gambar, dan tabel ditempatkan dalam teks pada posisi yang sesuai, bukan di bagian akhir.
  5. Ukuran halaman A4, margin: atas 2,54 cm, kiri 2,54 cm, bawah 2,54 cm, kanan 2,54 cm, orientasi potret.
  6. Penulis harus secara jelas menyatakan jika terdapat konflik kepentingan atau potensi konflik kepentingan finansial maupun sumber pendanaan eksternal.
  7. Aplikasi manajemen referensi Mendeley harus digunakan saat mengutip referensi dan membuat bibliografi dalam artikel.
  8. Penulis harus menggunakan satuan ukuran dalam Sistem Internasional (SI) dan semua satuan harus disingkat.
  9. Manuskrip harus memuat hal-hal berikut;

Judul

Tidak boleh lebih dari 16 kata dalam Bahasa Inggris atau Bahasa Indonesia. Jika terdapat kata khusus yang bukan dalam Bahasa Inggris atau Bahasa Indonesia, maka harus ditulis dalam huruf miring.

Font: Tengah, Kapital, Tebal, Times New Roman, Ukuran 14.

 Abstrak

Abstrak terdiri dari 100-300 kata yang harus ditulis dalam satu paragraf. Ditulis dalam Times New Roman, ukuran 10, rata kanan-kiri, dengan spasi tunggal. Abstrak harus ringkas, jelas, deskriptif, dan komprehensif. Abstrak harus memberikan gambaran singkat yang mencakup alasan pemilihan atau pentingnya topik penelitian, permasalahan hukum (tujuan), metode penelitian, serta ringkasan hasil dan pembahasan atau kesimpulan. Kata kunci terdiri dari 3-5 kata atau frasa pendek. (Rata kanan-kiri, Miring, Times New Roman, ukuran 10, spasi tunggal).

 Artikel

Artikel ditulis pada kertas berukuran A4 dengan margin di semua sisi sebesar 2,54 cm dan jarak antar baris 1,15 pt. Font yang digunakan dalam artikel adalah Times New Roman dengan ukuran font 12. Format naskah lengkap sesuai contoh template yang sudah dilampirkan.

Persetujuan Etika

Artikel yang melaporkan penelitian yang melibatkan partisipan manusia dan hewan, data manusia, atau jaringan manusia harus mencantumkan pernyataan mengenai persetujuan etika dan izin. Penulis juga harus menyebutkan nama komite etika yang menyetujui penelitian serta nomor persetujuannya.

Daftar Pustaka

Daftar pustaka harus mencakup semua sumber yang relevan yang dikutip dalam teks dan diurutkan secara alfabetis berdasarkan nama penulis. Literatur yang digunakan dalam naskah sebaiknya berasal dari publikasi dalam 10 tahun terakhir (> 80%). Penggunaan artikel jurnal akademik sangat dianjurkan. Semua literatur harus dicantumkan dalam daftar pustaka dengan format sebagai berikut:

Referensi dalam teks mengikuti format Vancouver, dengan nomor sesuai urutan kemunculannya. Nomor referensi ditulis dalam bentuk superskrip tanpa tanda kurung setelah tanda baca. Penulis wajib menggunakan aplikasi manajemen referensi seperti Mendeley dalam penulisan kutipan dan daftar pustaka.

Penulis yang mengirimkan naskah menyetujui bahwa jika artikel diterima untuk dipublikasikan, hak cipta artikel akan dialihkan kepada Jurnal Anestesiologi dan Terapi Intensif (JATI) sebagai penerbit jurnal. Hak cipta mencakup hak eksklusif untuk mereproduksi dan mendistribusikan artikel dalam semua bentuk dan media, termasuk cetak ulang, fotografi, mikrofilm, serta bentuk reproduksi lainnya, termasuk terjemahan.

Original Articles

Scope
Jurnal Anestesi dan Terapi Intensif (JATI) publishes original research articles that present novel findings with direct relevance to anaesthesiology, perioperative care, intensive care, pain medicine, and emergency medicine. Submissions should contribute meaningfully to clinical practice, education, or future research in these disciplines.

Manuscript Requirements

  • Abstract: A structured abstract (up to 300 words) including Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.

  • Word Count: Generally limited to 3,000 words (excluding references, tables, and figures). Longer submissions may be considered for multi-centre or highly significant studies.

  • References: Typically limited to 40; Vancouver referencing style is required.

  • Figures/Tables: Up to 6 figures and tables combined, unless additional material is essential to support the findings. Supplementary data may be published online.

  • Keywords: 3–6 MeSH terms must be provided.

Reporting Standards
Authors must comply with recognised reporting guidelines:

  • CONSORT for randomised controlled trials.

  • STROBE for observational/cohort/case-control studies.

  • ARRIVE 2.0 for animal studies.

Checklists should be submitted as supplementary files at the time of submission.

Ethical Considerations

  • All studies involving human participants must state approval by an appropriate ethics committee and confirm that informed consent was obtained.

  • Clinical trials must include registration details (e.g. ClinicalTrials.gov or local registry).

  • Animal studies must comply with institutional and international guidelines on animal care and use.

Peer Review
Original research articles are subject to double-blind peer review by at least two expert reviewers. Manuscripts are evaluated for methodological rigour, originality, ethical compliance, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Authorship
Authorship must follow the ICMJE criteria. The contributions of each author must be described in the submission. All potential conflicts of interest and sources of funding must be disclosed.

Submission Process

Review Articles

Scope
Jurnal Anestesi dan Terapi Intensif (JATI) welcomes high-quality review articles that provide comprehensive, critical, and balanced overviews of topics relevant to anaesthesiology, pain medicine, perioperative care, intensive care, and emergency medicine. Reviews should summarise current evidence, highlight controversies or gaps in knowledge, and offer perspectives that may guide clinical practice, research, or education.

Types of Review Articles

  • Narrative Reviews: Broad overviews addressing current developments and perspectives in anaesthesia and intensive care, supported by a thorough literature search.

  • Systematic Reviews: Structured reviews following PRISMA guidelines, addressing specific clinical or research questions with explicit methodology.

  • Meta-Analyses: Quantitative syntheses of data, conducted and reported according to PRISMA and other relevant standards.

Manuscript Requirements

  • Abstract: A structured abstract for a systematic review (up to 300 words) outlining background, methods (if systematic), results, and conclusions. Narrative review requires an unstructured abstract of up to 300 words. 

  • Word Count: Generally up to 4,000 words (excluding references, tables, and figures). Exceptions may be granted by the Editorial Board.

  • References: No strict limit, but references should be comprehensive, relevant, and up to date. Authors are encouraged to follow the Vancouver referencing style.

  • Figures/Tables: Authors may include figures, diagrams, or summary tables to aid clarity and enhance reader engagement.

Authorship
Review articles should be authored by individuals with expertise in the field. Collaborative, multidisciplinary authorship is encouraged. The role of each author must be clearly stated according to ICMJE recommendations.

Peer Review
All review articles are subject to double-blind peer review. Submissions will be evaluated for originality, rigour of methodology (for systematic reviews/meta-analyses), comprehensiveness, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Ethical Considerations
Systematic reviews and meta-analyses must adhere to international reporting standards. Narrative reviews should disclose any potential conflicts of interest and should avoid bias in the selection and interpretation of references.

Submission Process
Authors must submit manuscripts via the online submission system of JATI. Submissions must comply with the Author Guidelines regarding formatting, referencing style, and ethical standards.

Case Report or Case Series

Focus and Scope
Jurnal Anestesi dan Terapi Intensif (JATI) welcomes the submission of case reports and case series that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practice in anesthesiology, pain medicine, perioperative care, and intensive care. These reports should highlight rare conditions, novel diagnostic or therapeutic approaches, unexpected complications, or unique insights into clinical decision-making that are of relevance to our readership. Submissions that do not fall in this category will not be considered for publication

 

Submission Requirements

  • Case reports and case series must be prepared in accordance with the CARE (CAse REport) guidelines, ensuring transparency and completeness of reporting. Authors should include a completed CARE checklist upon submission.

  • Submissions must include informed consent from the patient(s) or their legal guardian(s), with confirmation of consent stated clearly in the manuscript. Identifying information should be removed to protect patient confidentiality.

  • A structured abstract (maximum 250 words) is required, with suggested subheadings: Introduction, Case Presentation, and Conclusion.

  • The manuscript should typically include the following sections: Introduction, Case Presentation, Discussion, Conclusion, and References.

  • Case reports should generally not exceed 2,500 words, excluding references, figures, and tables. A maximum of 15 references is recommended.

  • Case series may include up to 5 patients, with word and reference limits adjusted at the discretion of the Editorial Board.

Peer Review Process
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening to assess relevance, originality, and compliance with ethical standards. Suitable manuscripts will then be sent for external peer review by at least two independent reviewers. Final decisions rest with the Editorial Board.

Ethical Considerations

  • Authors must ensure patient anonymity is strictly preserved.

  • Written informed consent is mandatory and must be declared in the manuscript.

  • Ethical approval is not usually required for single case reports but may be required for case series, depending on local regulations and the nature of the intervention described.

Publication Format
Accepted case reports and case series will be published as full-text articles in the Case Report / Case Series section of JATI. Articles are indexed and citable, contributing to the broader evidence base in anesthesiology and intensive care.

Study Protocol

Scope
JATI accepts submissions of study protocols that describe planned or ongoing research in anesthesiology, pain medicine, perioperative care, intensive care, and emergency medicine. Publishing protocols enhances transparency, reduces the risk of duplication, and promotes collaboration.

Manuscript Requirements

  • Abstract: Structured abstract (up to 300 words) summarizing the background, objectives, study design, and anticipated impact.

  • Word Count: Generally up to 3,000 words (excluding references, tables, and figures).

  • References: Typically up to 30, in Vancouver style.

  • Figures/Tables: Authors may include flow diagrams, timelines, or summary tables outlining methodology.

  • Keywords: 3–6 MeSH terms must be provided.

Reporting Standards
Protocols must adhere to appropriate reporting guidelines:

  • SPIRIT (Standard Protocol Items: Recommendations for Interventional Trials) for interventional trials.

  • STROBE / RECORD for observational study protocols.

  • PRISMA-P for systematic review protocols.

Authors must include the relevant checklist as supplementary material.

Ethical Considerations

  • All study protocols involving human participants or animals must include evidence of ethics committee approval (or a statement that approval is pending).

  • Clinical trials must be prospectively registered in a recognised registry (e.g. ClinicalTrials.gov, WHO ICTRP, or national equivalent).

  • Funding sources and potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

Peer Review
Study protocols undergo double-blind peer review. Reviewers assess methodological rigour, feasibility, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal’s scope. The emphasis is on the soundness of the proposed design rather than results.

Authorship
Authorship must comply with ICMJE recommendations, and contributions of each author should be clearly described. Collaborative authorship across institutions is encouraged.

Submission Process
