Review Articles
Scope
Jurnal Anestesi dan Terapi Intensif (JATI) welcomes high-quality review articles that provide comprehensive, critical, and balanced overviews of topics relevant to anaesthesiology, pain medicine, perioperative care, intensive care, and emergency medicine. Systematic Reviews: Structured reviews following PRISMA guidelines, addressing specific clinical or research questions with explicit methodology.
-
Meta-Analyses: Quantitative syntheses of data, conducted and reported according to PRISMA and other relevant standards.
Manuscript Requirements
-

-
Word Count: Generally up to 4,000 words (excluding references, tables, and figures). Exceptions may be granted by the Editorial Board.

Authorship
Review articles should be authored by individuals with expertise in the field. Collaborative, multidisciplinary authorship is encouraged. The role of each author must be clearly stated according to ICMJE recommendations.
Peer Review
All review articles are subject to double-blind peer review. Submissions will be evaluated for originality, rigour of methodology (for systematic reviews/meta-analyses), comprehensiveness, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
Ethical Considerations
Systematic reviews and meta-analyses must adhere to international reporting standards. Narrative reviews should disclose any potential conflicts of interest and should avoid bias in the selection and interpretation of references.
Submission Process
Authors must submit manuscripts via the online submission system of JATI. Submissions must comply with the Author Guidelines regarding formatting, referencing style, and ethical standards.
Case Report or Case Series
Focus and Scope
Jurnal Anestesi dan Terapi Intensif (JATI) welcomes the submission of case reports and case series that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practice in anesthesiology, pain medicine, perioperative care, and intensive care. These reports should highlight rare conditions, novel diagnostic or therapeutic approaches, unexpected complications, or unique insights into clinical decision-making that are of relevance to our readership. Submissions that do not fall in this category will not be considered for publication.
Submission Requirements
-
Case reports and case series must be prepared in accordance with the CARE (CAse REport) guidelines, ensuring transparency and completeness of reporting. Authors should include a completed CARE checklist upon submission.
-
Submissions must include informed consent from the patient(s) or their legal guardian(s), with confirmation of consent stated clearly in the manuscript. Identifying information should be removed to protect patient confidentiality.
-
A structured abstract (maximum 250 words) is required, with suggested subheadings: Introduction, Case Presentation, and Conclusion.
-
The manuscript should typically include the following sections: Introduction, Case Presentation, Discussion, Conclusion, and References.
-
Case reports should generally not exceed 2,500 words, excluding references, figures, and tables. A maximum of 15 references is recommended.
-
Case series may include up to 5 patients, with word and reference limits adjusted at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
Peer Review Process
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening to assess relevance, originality, and compliance with ethical standards. Suitable manuscripts will then be sent for external peer review by at least two independent reviewers. Final decisions rest with the Editorial Board.
Ethical Considerations
-
Authors must ensure patient anonymity is strictly preserved.
-
Written informed consent is mandatory and must be declared in the manuscript.
-
Ethical approval is not usually required for single case reports but may be required for case series, depending on local regulations and the nature of the intervention described.
Publication Format
Accepted case reports and case series will be published as full-text articles in the Case Report / Case Series section of JATI. Articles are indexed and citable, contributing to the broader evidence base in anesthesiology and intensive care.
Study Protocol
Scope
JATI accepts submissions of study protocols that describe planned or ongoing research in anesthesiology, pain medicine, perioperative care, intensive care, and emergency medicine. Publishing protocols enhances transparency, reduces the risk of duplication, and promotes collaboration.

Abstract: Structured abstract (up to 300 words) summarizing the background, objectives, study design, and anticipated impact.
-
Word Count: Generally up to 3,000 words (excluding references, tables, and figures).

-
Clinical trials must be prospectively registered in a recognised registry (e.g. ClinicalTrials.gov, WHO ICTRP, or national equivalent).
-
Funding sources and potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
Peer Review
Study protocols undergo double-blind peer review. Reviewers assess methodological rigour, feasibility, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal’s scope. The emphasis is on the soundness of the proposed design rather than results.
Authorship
Authorship must comply with ICMJE recommendations, and contributions of each author should be clearly described. Collaborative authorship across institutions is encouraged.
Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted via the journal’s online submission system and prepared according to the Author Guidelines. Protocols that do not follow the required format may be returned to authors before peer review.
